November Gathering

Thank you for attending the November Flamework Get Together.  It was a blast.  David did an awesome job explaining and demonstrating boro techniques to us.  The manatee and bird David created were fabulous!! Thanks again David!!! 

We had two new flamworkers join our group…Welcome Sally and Pam!!!  We are so thrilled to have you join us.

The crazy glass exchange was a blast too!!! Thank you to everyone that participated!

 We hope to see everyone for our December Holiday Gathering on December 13th at 5pm.

November 8th

Hi!  November 8th is our next get together at 5pm.  I was trying to think of something fun to do, so I thought a glass exchange game would be uber cool.  All you need to do is bring a bead you created, or a marble, or glass, or a tool, or supplies, etc….whatever you would like to “gift” and place it in a paper bag.  When you arrive, see me and I will fill you in on the rest of the details. 

We have a few things to discuss then we will play our game, socialize, have a demo, and melt some glass. 

Please email me if you would like to bring finger foods to the get together.

Hi!! I had a blast last night!  I had so much fun meeting everyone and sharing glass tips, tricks, ideas, etc.   I loved our mix of glass artists….from interested in learning to melt glass to thirty years of experience…we had an array of talent in the studio!!  Kudos to The Industrial Art Center  for opening their doors and welcoming us to meet at the center.  The demos were awesome too….thanks again Linda and Fay. 

A huge thank you to the following people for donating doorprizes and glass. We really appreciate your support and all of your efforts to make our first gathering extra special!!

Tomorrow is the Day

Our First Gathering is upon us.  It is tomorrow, Saturday at 5 pm. 

Here is the Agenda:                                                                                                We are going to have a doorprize, socializing, a discussion about further gatherings, a lizard bead demonstration, and open torch/bead challenge. 

Please remember to bring your torch glasses, glass for open torch, and your favorite beads to show us.  Don’t forget to wear cotton, closed shoes, and dress coolly…it gets hot in the hot shop.

Join Us….

I am so excited!! Finally the pieces have come together!

Please join us on October 11, 2008 at the Industrial Arts Center for a glass get together from 5 pm to 8 pm. 

We will have demonstrations, doorprizes, a brief meeting to discuss the prospects of forming an ISGB chapter and monthly get togethers, and lots of time to chat about glass.

Hi fellow glass melters!  I have been searching for alternative locations for us to have our Get-Togethers.  I have a few places that have volunteered their space for us to meet at this fall.  As the details finalized I will update you.

Meet and Greet Canceled

Unfortunately, due to an unavoidable circumstance with the location for our Get-Together, we will be unable to meet this Saturday, April 12, 2008.  This saddens me as I am sure it does all of you.  Hopefully, we will be able to reschedule this event in the near future.  As soon as I have a new date I will notify you.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
